100% Moscato Bianco from the Scrapona vineyard in the Bagnario Valley in Strevi, Piedmont.  Fermentation stopped when reaching 5.5% alcohol.

Scrapona refers to the steep Strevi hillside that vine growers have to “scrapple” up.

Michele Marenco started his winery in 1925 with the desire to make wine from his vineyard in the Bagnario Valley near the town of Strevi in Piedmont.  His son, Giuseppe, followed in Michele’s footsteps when he took over.  Giuseppe built the winery in the center of Strevi and bought some of the best land to plant vineyards.  Today, his daughters, Michaela (and her husband Giovanni Costa), Patrizia, and Doretta run the winery.  Andrea Costa, Michela and Giovanni’s son, joined the company in 2014.

Marenco makes 20 different wines from grapes indigenous to the area.  A main part of the family’s philosophy is their connection to the land and to the local traditions and their respect for nature and the environment.  The company logo of two mallards in flight was inspired by their land and the nearby lake at the Bassina Estate in Fontanile.
