David and Ginny Adelsheim established this winery in 1971 and it is still a family-owned and operated winery with estate vineyards located in Oregon’s northern Willamette Valley.  It was the first winery in the Chehalem Mountains AVA.  They started with 19 acres.  They now have twelve exception vineyard sites throughout the valley, totaling 237 acres.  David Adelsheim has been recognized for his extensive work in building the Oregon wine industry and establishing its reputation worldwide.  Adelsheim focuses on sustainable vineyard and winemaking practices.

Gina Hennen, who joined Adelsheim in 2007, just recently became the winery’s head winemaker.  She followed in the footsteps of Dave Paige who left to start his own winery.  Before changing to a winemaking career, she worked as a semiconductor engineer for several years in Oregon and Dublin, Ireland.  She began her career in the wine industry in 2006.
